Independent Study
The following are some projects I completed during the summer of 2020 when I participated in an independent study. This course was mostly self-led as I came up with the framework and deliverables for each project. All projects were approved and reviewed by my instructor. Each week, I picked two elements or principles of design that I wanted to practice, and I developed a project that would allow me to illustrate these concepts.
Tempo Covers: Scale & Hierarchy
Below are some magazine covers I made for the fictional brand Tempo. Two of my greatest passions are music and design, and I wanted to combine the two with this project. “Tempo” is a musical term for the speed of a piece, so I thought it would be the perfect title for a music magazine.
This project gave me a chance to work on my copywriting skills as well as practice consistent branding across multiple issues.

Event Poster: Spacing & Alignment
This poster for a fictional music festival provided me an opportunity to practice my spacing and alignment skills, as well as emphasis and hierarchy.
